Do you want to play a bingo game at the same time you are shedding off some unwanted calories at the gym? It may sound weird at first but this idea could become a reality one day.

The present Chief Executive Officer of Rank Leisure and Gaming Group, Mike Smith, is vacating his position in March. Ian Burke, owner of Holmes Place, a chain of fitness centers is set to replace Mike Smith as Rank's CEO.

The surprising announcement by the company comes on the heels of Rank's decision to sell-off the gaming group's Deluxe film processing interests, in addition to the previous sell-off of Rank's Butlins Holiday Camps, Tom Cobleigh Pubs and Odeon Cinema business divisions.

After that, Rank is now only left with the Mecca Bingo Halls, Grosvenor Casinos and Hard Rock Cafe at its company portfolio. Mr. Ian Burke will bring with him to his new position his vast experience as he was previously the managing director of another bingo operator Giant, Gala Bingo. So do we see CEO Ian Burke bridging the gap between the world of bingo and personal fitness? Only time will tell.
